We travelled a fair way up to Stanedge Golf Club, Chesterfield, on Sunday rain pouring, poor visibility and expecting the worst.
We turned up at the club and was greeted with a very friendly welcome from the members. There was a delay in the starting time due to the rain but as soon as it eased were were out practicing and ready for play to begin.
Teams exchanged in the club house we proceeded to the first tee with no rain in sight although the course was very wet. After 9 holes the course had drained extremely well and knowing that they had undergone new drainage on the greens with help from volunteers they coped exceptionally with all the overnight rain.
The course was in excellent condition and testament to the green keeper and the volunteers, it is definitely worth a visit for a very welcoming game of golf if you are in the area.
We would like to thank Lisa for all her hard work for putting on a beautiful meal for us and finishing off what must be said a very enjoyable day in great company.
Roger, Captain of Stanedge A, please thank all involved it was a pleasure meeting you all.
