Lutterworth progress in the Taskers Trophy

On a muggy Friday afternoon, the team travelled to Horsley Lodge in Derbyshire to play Round 4 of the Taskers Trophy.

Horsley slopes certainly suited Alan Milburn who had a spring in his step even though he had man flu. Alan managed to secure a 4&3 win. John Poole fancied playing all 18 holes as he sank a putt on the last for a 1 up victory. Phil Harbord was the putting king with numerous one putts securing a 3&2 win.

The Captain off 5 was promoted to the team from the dark side and is hard to beat in match play. Chris on his debut secured a 4&2 win for the team. Lyn Griffiths knew he could not lose wearing shorts and managed to win the 18th to secure a half. The Secretary caddied for Hugh McClean and was sacked after Hugh went down fighting on the back nine. Alan Hope came up against the Captain of Horsley who had a strong match play game, Horsley took the point in match 7 on the 16th.

The Final Result was 4.5 to 2.5 to Lutterworth. We have been drawn away to Rotherham in the quarter finals.
