Sunday 26th September, saw the finals of the 2021 Taskers Trophy Competitions at Beeston Fields Golf Club saw some familiar teams return to the finals; Uttoxeter Golf Club who have competed in many Taskers Trophy & Plate Finals in recent years won the Taskers Trophy having played Southwell A, Little Aston who returned to Beeston Fields after their 2019 defeat, this time to win the Ian Burtoft Trophy, having defeated Lingdale B. New names to the final in the Taskers Plate, saw Oakmere Park win against Branston.
All finalists participants were presented with mementoes of their day. The winning teams were presented with the Trophies for their respective competition along with mementoes at the prize presentation hosted by Mike Crawford, representing our sponsor Taskers UK.
Following the prize presentation, funding was presented to participating county unions and associations, Nottinghamshire, Leicester & Rutland, Derbyshire, Staffordshire, Sheffield & Yorkshire, and Lincolnshire all for the development of Junior Golf in their counties. This year 100% of all entry fees has been given back to grassroots junior golf development. Further reports will be posted in the forthcoming weeks and months as counties complete their funding applications.
Thanks were also given to Beeston Fields Golf Club, for providing a well-conditioned course, the excellent hospitality and catering provided by all the club. The committee always seeks to host the final and semi-finals at neutral courses.
