The funding from the Taskers Trophy will support all of the girls engaged with our programme. We currently have 106 girls registered with our County Association with a 75% participation rate, with girls ages 6-18 years of age. The funding we receive is crucial to support our programme of activities we run throughout the year.
This includes matches, competitions, social opportunities, skills development, training and leadership opportunities. The girls who will benefit from this range from handicap index +3.3 up to girls without handicaps; therefore the funding will support girls of all abilities. We currently have 12 girls with a single figure and better handicap. The funding enables us to support both the playing skill development and personal development of girls all across Lincolnshire. The funds will go to support our Futures, Development and Performance Squads. We are a not-for-profit organisation run by volunteers and without the funds, we are unable to run our programme and impact all those girl golfers above within Lincolnshire.

The funding will contribute towards our Girls Order of Merit events that take place at Woodhall which cater for newer/learner girl golfers alongside more elite golfers. These events provide an opportunity for the older girls to become young leaders and support the coach with the sessions. The funds will be used to support coaches’ costs, facility costs and young leaders’ expenses. Approx 40-50 girls will benefit from this.
We will look to host some Girls Golf Get Together events to help encourage social engagement and personal skill development; encouraging a sense of belonging, community and an opportunity to build friendships that will last a lifetime. We have run several events over the last 12 months which have been very successful. Funding will support prizes, facility costs, event fees, and refreshments. Approx 50 girls will benefit from this.
We are launching our new County Coaching and Training this Autumn which is made up of 3 levels; Futures, Development and Performance Squads. 39 girls have been invited to join the Squads and take part in the training sessions. We are providing approx. 100 hours of delivered sessions to our girls with PGA Professionals and Professional Practitioners. Sessions will incorporate the following:
Futures Squad will focus on bringing girls from around the county together, team building, personal development, playing skills development, course knowledge and preparation, on course activity in addition to preparing to obtain/development of handicap index.
Performance and Development Squads will create a coaching curriculum focused on England Golf’s 5 Principles; World class holing out, Outstanding short game, Precise wedge play, Ball flight control and Strategy and tactical awareness. This will be in addition to player development planning, goal setting, skills tests, self-reflection and progress mapping, alongside course preparation and course management. Furthermore, they will also be accessing Strength & Conditioning, Nutrition and Psychology.
Every girl in the county who is registered with us (x 106 girls) will have the opportunity to access these.
The previous funding fro the Taskers Trophy has provided support towards prizes at at junior events and competitions, in addition to subsidising entries. We have 28 events in addition to Girls matches taking place in 2022 so the funds have been hugely helpful to supporting our programme which 76 Lincolnshire girls have benefited from, ranging from a +3.3 handicap index through to girls without handicaps. The funding has also been used to help subsidise our Girls Order of Merit events and training which has supported 37 girls both with handicaps and non handicaps. These 5 events take place at Woodhall Spa Golf Club with Alison Johns and provide a fantastic experience and opportunity for the girls. They are an ideal activity to upskill the girls, provide coaching, alongside bringing girls from around the county together to build friendships and grow confidence, in addition to playing on the fantastic short game facilities at Woodhall. They also provide leadership opportunities for our older girls who support the younger ones. Over 40 girls have been involved with these.
We measure success by
-Number of girls participating in the provision
-Personal Development (Confidence, motivation, concentration, respect, perseverance), including leadership and social skills.
-Number of girl leaders deployed
-Decrease in handicap index and improvement in ability level
-39 girls completed the County Squads training programme
Our aim – To retain, nurture and develop girl golfers of all ages and abilities within a pathway that strives for excellence.
