A wet match at Burton on Thursday resulted in a 4/3 lead for the home team.  An even wetter match at Ashbourne on Friday resulted in a 6/1 win for the home team.  The final match was decided on the 20th hole to avoid the 3 hole play-off, which was just as well as the course was rapidly becoming unplayable.  A great first round tie played in great spirit by both sides – despite the weather.
