Chesterfield A 4 - 3 Ashby Decoy A

Chesterfield A won a tight match in toughest of conditions against visitors Ashby Decoy A. On a wet blustery day the course just about held up to the 7 matches.

The visiting Rob beat the host Robin 5 & 4 to post first blood for Ashby. Bill squared the match against Chris 2 & 1. Interesting result pending, third in we’re Robert And Steve who had halved at 18 and sent out down the 19th in case the match was as tight as suspected. Captain Paul won his match for the hosts 3 & 2, Chesterfield now in the driving seat.

Mike posted a win against Paul  3 & 1. Ashby’s Tony won his match against Phil 2 up. Tim was humbled by Ian the visiting captain 7 & 5. With the result all square the result of match 3 was awaited with bated breath hero Robert Johnston clenching the extra hole swinging the result 4 & 3 in the hosts favour.

Great camaraderie was the order of the day despite the bad weather, match played in great spirit.

  1. it was testing conditions at Chesterfield and all my team thought what a great course. It turned out to be a tight match with Ashby losing out on the first play off hole.
Well done Dave and your team good luck in the next round in better weather🤞and thanks for your hospitality.
    Regards Ian
