Whittington Heath win the Ian Burtoft Trophy having played Copt Heath
Ormonde Fields win the Taskers Trophy defeating Rothley Park
New Mills win the Taskers Plate having beaten Denton

Sunday, 20th October, the finals of the 2024 Taskers Trophy Competitions unfolded at Beeston Fields Golf Club.
These finals had been rescheduled after the original September date was washed out by powerful storms and relentless rain. The early hours of Sunday saw the course battered by gusting winds and showers, a lingering reminder of the previous storms that necessitated the postponement however this time play could go on!
Despite the challenging weather conditions earlier in the day, the competition pressed on with remarkable resilience from all participants. Rothley Park faced Ormonde Fields, with Ormonde clinching victory in the 2024 Taskers Trophy. Whittington Heath triumphed in the Burtoft Trophy, defeating Copt Heath and inscribing their name on the Trophy for the second time since their first win in 2012. New Mills emerged victorious in the Taskers Plate after a close match with Denton.

All finalists were honored with mementoes, with the winning teams receiving their respective Trophies and keepsakes during the prize presentation. Mike Crawford, representing sponsor Taskers UK, hosted the event.
Supporting Junior Golf
Following the prize ceremony, funds were allocated to participating county unions and associations, including Nottinghamshire, Leicester & Rutland, Derbyshire, Staffordshire, Sheffield & Yorkshire, Warwickshire, and Lincolnshire, all earmarked for the development of junior golf. Impressively, 100% of all entry fees this year have been dedicated to supporting grassroots junior golf. The funding presented for Junior Golf development is proportional to the number of teams entering from each county area. Find out more here
Special thanks were extended to Beeston Fields Golf Club for providing a well-maintained course and exceptional hospitality, especially given the rescheduling challenges due to the course closure in September. The committee remains committed to hosting the final and semi-finals at neutral venues. Further reports will follow in the upcoming weeks as counties complete their funding applications.
