The teams met at Brierley Forest on a calm, overcast day. All the games went down to the last holes, a very tight match on a very tricky course which none of the players had played before.

It all came down to the final game, Ian fighting back from 2 down after 8 holes. Ian finally got 1 up on 11. And managed to hold on until the 16th, going 3 up . This competition never fails to produce really competitive golf.

I would like to thank Brierley Forest for allowing us to play our semi-final on their course; we really enjoyed the experience, and I mean an experience.

A very tough course.

Our thanks to Cosby for a very sporting game; good reports from my players about the Cosby players.

Hope all players arrived home safe and sound.

This is a top competition, well worth entering. Looking forward to playing alongside my team again in the final if selected.

Golf was the winner today.

A big thank you to my players, all those who played today, and all the other matches.
