Oakmere Park was not a course many of the Rushcliffe or Belton Park ladies knew well. Some good reconnaissance by both teams helped the players plot their way around some of the more usual holes. Like most courses, Oakmere has suffered with the extremely dry but now the extremely wet conditions.
I had the pleasure of walking the course yesterday and witnessing some stunning golf, both in terms of shot execution and excellent matchplay.
There were four very tight games which meant the outcome went to the wire. The score of 2-5 does not reflect the closeness of the match, which could have gone to either team. Thank you Belton Park for your company and enjoyable games of golf.
Thanks must also go to Oakmere for their hospitality but especially to Alan Hall who has guided both teams through the event from initial contact to travelling the course with us yesterday.
