Firstly, I must thank Taskers for their generous support of Junior Girls Golf in Derbyshire. We are indebted to your continued interest and can assure you that we spend the money wisely.

The money goes in the main part to provide good quality coaching at all levels. Our better Juniors are offered places on the two top levels of County Coaching where they join the low handicap County Players.

The coaching at this level deals with more advanced skills training, along with golf psychology and fitness training. Girls from 24 handicap and below are also included in the County Training scheme and we now hope this year to include a new group of players without handicaps. These will be drawn from our immensely successful Futures Tour which saw over 90 boys and girls without handicaps take part in nine events throughout the County over the summer.

I would like to mention some of our junior successes in 2015. Olivia Kelly from Erewash has had an excellent last year as a junior. Following major successes in Schools golf she reached the semi-final of the Welsh Girls Championship and was picked to represent Wales at the Home Internationals.

Lauren Sabin from Shirland has reduced her handicap from 17 to 10 and was successful at a recent England Golf Assessment weekend. She will now be coached at West Midlands Level.

Imogen Rafferty who is 12 years of age has reduced her handicap from 26 to 17 and was the top scorer in the Breadsall Priory Team that came third in the National Junior Club Finals at Frilford Heath.

We have also had several girls playing in both first and second team County matches.

Thank you again for your support.
