Getting the most out of your Inter-Club experience

Whether this is your first or 19th time of being a Team Captain in the competition, we hope you enjoy your experience this year, teams always pride themselves on the camaraderie which comes as part of the knockout competition, not forgetting that your entry fee directly supports junior golf in your county.

We know there is a lot to take in when starting competition; you will have received an email on the 17th February informing you of the draw being published, and how to find opposing team captains details and other key information. We will always communicate with you via email, so it’s important you check your emails from interclub @ are received and read, you might need to add us to your address book in your email, to avoid our emails going into your spam folder.

It is very important that you and your team members understand the rules of the competition in which they are competing. This is especially important for clubs who have entered more than one team, Rule 2, around player eligibility and when players are ‘active’ is key to understand to avoid disqualification; an explanation of Rule 2.c can be found here. It is also important you understand how to resolve a result, in simple terms every match must be played to a definitive result. For the ladies competition only, the first round is played home and away and the rules detail how to resolve a tie if the aggregated score is all square, the FAQ has further details of how to initiate this

Our camaraderie extends online here on the19th where teams can share their stories, match reports and golfing news, do take a look at what people shared last year. We look forward to hearing about your experiences this year (don’t forget your to take some photo’s of your team!) Updates from the19th are also shared on, twitter and facebook, so make sure you follow and like us!

It’s important to know that the committee and I are here to support you and your team, however, we can’t be available all of the time, which is why we have the rules and FAQ section on the website to help you with common questions. (our website is also accessible on smartphones, for when you’re out and about)

If those areas don’t help or need clarification or your experience isn’t what you expect, please do not hesitate to get in touch and we will do our best to reply as soon as practical; for example if you have any difficulty arranging your match within the rules, cannot get in touch with a team captain (we have access to the secretary details provided on entry) or need any dispute resolving (we hope there aren’t any!)

The organising committee wishes all teams great success in their matches and thanks you, and your club, again for entering the Taskers Trophy Inter-Club and supporting junior golf in your county.

Best regards

Blair Crawford
