There has been a full programme of tournaments, matches and coaching sessions across all the Junior squads throughout the year, including a early season weekend get-together for our senior juniors at Seacroft Golf Club.
This early taste of links golf worked well as the U18 Squad then went on to win the 4 Counties Tournament held at Wallesey Golf Club in the Spring and later in the year won the Midland League – East. Our U14 Squad won the four counties tournament held at Broughton Heath Golf Club and later in the season finished second in the 10 counties tournament at the same venue, with a Nottinghamshire youngster taking the best gross prize.

This year we also introduced an U12 squad to ease the transgression of talented golfers in the Nippers Tour to the county team environment.  The Nippers tour, run jointly with the Notts Ladies’ Golf Association, continues to attract strong entries from all ages under twelve, including a 41/2 year old boy who showed tremendous enthusiasm and competitive spirit in playing the game.  In excess of 60 boys and girls participated in our tournaments held in the school holidays in the Spring and Summer.  For the first time we also offered subsidised coaching sessions to our Nippers throughout the summer.  These were popular and attracted around 25 boys and girls.
