We were delighted to receive your donation to use on girls’ development in the County this year.
As in previous years, we have used the funding towards our now annual trip to Woodhall Spa with 12-15 of our 1st & 2nd team players. Actually we are there at the moment hence me not being able to join you tonight!! I bet it’s raining!!
The girls enjoy practice sessions both mornings with our Pro Katie Tebbett from Rothley Park on the marvellous short game and driving range facilities – second to none!! On both afternoons the girls play both courses and practice a couple of playing formats that are not experienced enough at Club level.
The whole experience not only adds to the golf skills of our team players but also
importantly their team bonding and knowledge of each other. Their skills have gone from strength to strength with all girls significantly reducing their handicaps during the year. Their team spirit is a joy to behold – the mutual support and desire to work with each other has added to their successes throughout the playing season. As a County we are now able to field a single figure Scratch team, something we have been striving for, for some years!
Our focus also continues on growing the talent pool as well as continuing to develop our older players.
Our Little Foxes Development Programme has grown in number and talent! A group of about 30 of the younger girls come together monthly for a coaching session and the friendships that develop are key to the success of the programme and their enthusiasm for the game. They are a joy to work with and their parents are totally supportive!
Overall, your funding helps us in our bid to create the right environment for girls of all ages and skill levels to enjoy their friendships, increase their skills and most importantly have fun with a game that can stay with them for a lifetime!
Once again, many thanks for helping us continue our work at a time when other funding is diminishing. We appreciate it more than I can say.
