Taskers Trophy Funding has helped increase our squad numbers, thus producing more Little Foxes who join us, stay with us and have enormous fun while developing their skills. The second flight of Foxes has enhanced our ability to choose from a larger pool to populate our 1st & 2nd Teams. Progress within the County Leagues has been excellent, and the camaraderie and enjoyment is palpable!!
For the first time, the County Union & County Association is working together to produce and launch an opportunity for boys & girls at all levels of golf to become members of the Foxes Junior Pathway Tour – a series of 5 day events that provide playing opportunities for newcomers and more experienced players from all clubs across the County. At each event, there will be a Flag50, Super50, 9 hole competition and 18 hole competition – something for everyone!
The funding, from the Taskers Trophy, will be used to Market the Tour and to produce branded materials for the players thus creating a sense of community and belonging within the Group. Prizes will be provided at every event for each playing category and the 18 hole event will produce winners of an Order of Merit – new trophies to be provided. Additionally, we will be running a series of coaching sessions for girls which mirror the steps of the pathway – these have been run in previous years with great success.
We will measure our success by:
- Recruitment of new players
- Retention rates of players at Clubs and at the Tour events
- Handicap Improvements
- Uptake of players for the Tour
- Ongoing uptake at events after event 1
- Progression of players through the steps of the pathway
- Success in League matches
- Breadth of choice of players for matches
This supports our development objectives to grow the game of golf for Girls & Boys. To provide development and playing opportunities for players at all levels in a safe & fun environment. To assist Clubs in the Recruitment and retention of new players. To help players develop friendship groups and to grow within the game alongside their golfing friends
